Background

I have 17 years of experience in live performance, and “off the floor” analogue recordings.

My method relies on evoking strong performances through live instrumentation recorded with vintage engineering and mixing techniques to achieve a modern sonic landscape that can easily be translated to stage.

Specialising in instrumentation and song writing, I enjoy working with artists looking for a producer to inspire and add grandeur.

Though rarely the primary focus, I often find myself developing an artist’s sound and/or sonic identity. With a heavy emphasis on Pre-production, I excel in album conceptualisation and musical idealism.

Style & Ideology

Intertwining chaos and beauty, reckless abandon and meticulous accuracy. I prefer to work with artists unbound by conventional ideas of genre.

I come from an indie-punk-rock background though I enjoy working in a variety of styles and get along well with rockers, problem solving with progressives, collaborating on pop tracks, creating the right atmosphere while recording country folks and though I tend to seem like a bull in a china-shop around the theoretically minded jazz musicians I enjoy the often raw and organic nature of the classically inclined.

I primarily play Electric or acoustic guitar and lend my voice where appropriate, but I also play bass, synthesizer, and dabble with piano melodies.
I have experience with 14 other instruments including trumpet, french horn, tuba, and multiple forms of percussion, including but not limited to, marching snare drums, xylophone, timpani, bells, and various forms of hand drums such as bongos and djimbes, and cajon as the first instrument I became interested in was the drum kit 22 years ago.

I also play a few auxiliary instruments such as the hang drum, the triangle, and the harmonica along with exotic stringed instruments such as the baglama and simple harps).

The experience of these instruments has taught me about orchestration and the importance of arrangement and song writing as a foundation.

With 17 years of experience as a professional musician, producer and engineer, I’m convinced I can lend an ear to those in need.
